Thulite Tumblestone

This listing is for a set of 6 mini Thulite tumbled stones each measuring approx. 5-10mm.

Thulite was first discovered in 1820 in Sauland, Norway, and was named after the mythical northern land of Thule by the famous Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius. It is a translucent to opaque pink variety of the mineral zoisite, which owes its distinct rosy to deep raspberry-red colouration to the presence of manganese ions replacing calcium within the crystal lattice. It is therefore a calcium aluminium hydroxy sorosilicate mineral that forms during the regional metamorphism of calcium-rich rocks like limestone or marble.

Thulite is a relatively rare tumblestone and is an excellent healer. Known as the "Stone of Expression" and the "Stone of Passion", it is believed to have the properties to heal wounds of the heart and to help reduce stress, sorrow and anger and promote a calm state.
