FAQ - Crystals
Are the crystals we sell real?
Yes - we only stock genuine crystals and work with trusted, reliable and well established suppliers to ensure authenticity.
How can I tell if a Crystal is Fake?
1. Too Perfect
Natural crystals contain metals and other inclusions from their formation in the ground and hey are subject to many kinds of damage, such as nicks and abrasions and whilst polishing and tumbling will get rid of a lot of these, it is unlikely to get rid of them all. Reputable dealers will point out nicks and abrasions, and will fully disclose damage and repair.
2. Too Warm
Fake crystals usually weigh little as they are more likely to be made of glass and will also be warm to the touch whereas real crystals will be cold to the touch.
3. Too Bright
Fake crystals are often saturated in colour and appear brighter often with dye having seeped into crevices in the stone to enhance their attractiveness. Real crystals can also be bright but will be more translucent.
4. Contains Air Bubbles
Air bubbles in a stone are a dead give away that it is fake. Real crystals may have inclusions or small particles inside them but never air bubbles.
5. Too Clear
Fake crystals often appear too clear, too glass like and if held up to writing will just magnify the letters whereas genuine crystals distort the writing.
6. Shatters or Scratches Easily
Most although not all, real crystals are hard and quite resistant to scratching and damage. Real crystals will usually scratch or leave a mark of some kind on glass whereas fake ones won't.
7. The Price is Very Low
If the price for an alleged quality crystal is low then it is probably a fake. If it seems too good to be true then it probably is. Look around at the average price being asked by sellers and if yours is much lower, chances are it may be a fake.
8. Seller has no real knowledge about their crystals.
This should be a red flag as genuine crystal sellers should have a good knowledge of the products they are selling.
Are Your Crystals Ethically Sourced?
We strive to source all our crystals from ethically mined sources. We only deal with established, reliable UK suppliers who we have built up trusting relationships with over many years. No one has any way to certify the ten's of thousands of miners and mine owners or the thousands of worldwide crystals importers and wholesalers but we do strive to keep the trade ethical and honest to the best of our ability.
Is the Picture I see on the Website an accurate representation of what I will receive?.
Unless the crystal or product is sold as seen, the photograph is not the exact piece you will receive, however our photographs are updated regularly to show current stock, and should therefore be a fair representation of what you will receive.
Will my Products be Individually Labelled?
Due to the number of products we deal with, it is not possible for us to individually label each item for identification. Each item should be able to be identified from its website picture but if you cannot identify a product we are always here to help, so feel free to ask for our assistance, by dropping us a message or sending an email.
