Peanut Fossil Wood is a rare crystal that comes exclusively from the remote Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia. Found in the Windalia Radiolarite formation, this unique variety of petrified fossil wood is made of tough microcrystalline quartz and chalcedony.

Geology: Approximately 120 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, these stones began as prehistoric conifer trees that washed into an ancient sea as driftwood. While floating, marine wood-boring clams called shipworms drilled millions of tiny tunnels into the wood. After the logs sank, a fine, light-coloured sediment made of microscopic marine plankton packed tightly into these empty boreholes and over millions of years, silica-rich groundwater completely replaced the organic wood with quartz.

Today, the cross-sections of these sediment-filled tunnels look like cream-coloured peanut shapes against the dark black or brown fossilized wood meaning that every stone is one of a kind and totally unique.

Metaphysical Properties: Known as the ultimate Stone of the Earth, Peanut Wood blends the ancient energies of primeval forests with the prehistoric ocean. It is a highly grounding stone that is believed to calm an overactive mind and ease stress. Carrying the energy of millions of years, it brings its keeper immense patience, resilience during life changes, and is highly favoured for deep meditation, ancestral connection, and past-life recall.

You will receive one handpicked stone measuring approx. 15-25mm.

Please Note: These are natural stones and each is unique but may have its own small imperfections such as inclusions, pits or markings within the crystal itself - this is part of their natural beauty and as nature intended. Tumbling these stones may polish off some of these imperfections but not always all of them.
