Guinea Fowl Jasper Tumblestone

Guinea Fowl Jasper, aka Speckle Fossil Stone or Guinea Fowl Stone, is not technically (does not meet the mineral requirements) a jasper but is referred to as an Honorary Jasper.  Furthermore although some may attribute the grey-brown-black of Guinea Fowl Stone to the presence of Tourmaline inclusions, many believe that this is rarely the case and that it is a type of fossil stone in which pieces of shell mixed with sediment and fossilized microbial mats became silicified over millions of years, resulting in a flecked, speckled appearance, that resembles the plumage of the French Guinea Fowl.
