Green Petrified Wood Tumblestone

Petrified Wood stones are from ancient prehistoric trees that over millions of have turned to stone (petrified). Although they are petrified wood often they are referred to as fossilized wood, and they come in many colours eg. brown, pink, red, green, or black. These colour variations are caused by the trace minerals within the wood as it slowly petrifies. Green is the rarest on a worldwide scale and availability can vary.

Green Fossil Wood tumblestones colour is primarily due to chromium, although on occasions nickel has also been identified, that was present as the tree slowly turned to stone, giving it the green tones and colour that we see today.

Petrified Wood is a grounding stone and it is believed to foster a feeling of well being and vitality within us as well as encouraging a feeling of being in the right place at the right time. It is also believed to balance the emotions and help ease emotional conflict.
