Visually depicted as a male face formed by or emerging from foliage, the motif appears in three distinct styles: the leaf-covered Foliate Head, the vegetation-spewing Disgorging Head, and the Bloodsucker Head, which sprouts greenery from all facial orifices. Though Lady Julia Raglan popularized the term in 1939, this archetype transcends time and geography—spanning Celtic, Roman, Greek, Mesopotamian, and Hindu traditions to celebrate the circle of life.

The Green Man historically represents the green blood of the earth - the vital sap, chlorophyll, and vegetation that feeds the world. Red Jasper, deeply rich in iron, is classically associated with human blood, physical health, and raw stamina.
