Green Garnet Crystal Tumblestone

Green Garnet was discovered much later than its better known, red counterpart. It is an uncommon variety of Garnet that’s composed of aluminium and calcium, with possible traces of chromium and vanadium. When one of the latter two minerals are present, this mineral is usually referred to as “Tsavorite Garnet”. Tsavorite Garnet in fact was not made available to the jewellery trade until the 1970s after its discovery in Kenya, but this rare striking gemstone quickly became known for its brilliant green colour saturation when cut, making it popular with jewellery makers all over the world.
