Raw Turquoise Specimen (S. African) - Sold As Seen - Collectors Piece
This beautiful piece of natural rough, rare South African Turquoise is sold as seen and measures approx. 8cms x 6cms x 0.5/1cms and weighs approx. 87g.
African Turquoise, is found predominantly in sedimentary rocks deposits in the deserts of Africa and is not a true turquoise but a variety of jasper, which is a member of the Chalcedony family, composed of microcrystalline quartz. The confusion comes from its visual similarities to true Turquoise with its blue/green hues and vibrant teal and earthy browns, which stem from mineral inclusions such as copper, iron and other trace elements interacting with silica during the formation process and lead to its unique colour formation.
It is said to be a stone self discovery encompassing traits of evolution and change, transformation and growth to allow you to pursue all the possibilities that life may offer you, whilst offering support.
