Purpurite is a manganese phosphate mineral whose name is derived from the Latin word “purpura,” meaning purple, owing to its characteristic colour that can occur in shades that range from pale lavender to deep violet. It is also known as Royal Lavulite or Purple Leicate.

Purpurite is a rare crystal and known as the "Stone of Spiritual Growth" and also the "Stone of Freedom". It is believed to boost intuition, promote spiritual growth and bring balance and harmony to all areas of life. This beautiful stone also encourages introspection and self-awareness.
