Minnesota Pipestone Tumblestone
Pipestone aka Catlinite is believed to help you realize that your physical and spiritual aspects are interconnected, and is also referred as a Seeker or Transformer stone and can be used as a talisman when you want to transform part of yourself or an aspect of your life. It is a metamorphosed mudstone that forms in Sioux Quartzite and is used by Native American Indians to make prayer and ceremonial pipes. It is found in only a few places in the world and the best quality pipestone comes from southwestern Minnesota, where it is mined by indigenous people. It ranges in colour from pale pink to brick red and normally has small lighter spots - referred to as "stars" - scattered throughout. Pipestone is smooth to the touch and can be easily carved.

Tumbling these stones may polish off some of these imperfections but not always all of them.**
